The “Blockchain and Economy: Trust, Transparency, and Growth in the Digital Age” panel was held at Near East University. The event, hosted by Metaterra in Nicosia, brought together global leaders of the blockchain industry. Discussions centered on the transformation blockchain technology brings to economic systems and the future of digital trust. The opening speech was delivered by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar.
Highlighting the strategic importance of digital transformation for the national economy, President Tatar emphasized Metaterra’s international vision in bringing participants from three continents together in Northern Cyprus and its role in revealing the country’s digital potential. He noted that the event represented a significant step in strengthening the island’s position within the global financial ecosystem and expressed his gratitude to Hakan Törehan.
Recognized as a pioneer of regional blockchain ecosystem development through his projects under Miracle Group and Metaterra, and as the architect behind numerous innovations across Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, Hakan Törehan became the focal point of the event with his international experience in fintech and blockchain.

In his speech during the panel, Törehan underlined that blockchain is not merely a technological revolution but also a redefinition of trust and financial independence, stating:

Participants shared their insights on the opportunities blockchain offers to emerging markets and the future of next-generation financial systems.
